St. Louis to Host AEW’s WrestleDream Pay-Per-View This October

AEW has officially announced the location and date for its highly anticipated WrestleDream event in 2025, marking a new chapter for the burgeoning pay-per-view series. After two consecutive shows in Washington state, the company is taking WrestleDream to a new city for the first time in its short history. This year’s event will be held at St. Louis, Missouri’s Chaifetz Arena on October 18.
WrestleDream was first introduced in 2023 as a heartfelt tribute to Antonio Inoki, the legendary founder of New Japan Pro Wrestling. The inaugural event took place at Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena on the first anniversary of Inoki’s passing. The debut show was notable for several reasons, including the high-profile AEW debut of Adam Copeland, who made the jump from WWE after a celebrated 25-year tenure.
Last year, AEW kept WrestleDream in Washington state but moved the venue to the Tacoma Dome. The event delivered memorable moments, further establishing WrestleDream as a marquee show on AEW’s calendar. For 2025, the decision to relocate the event to St. Louis continues AEW’s strategy of expanding its footprint into key wrestling markets across the United States.
The choice of Chaifetz Arena is significant. This venue recently hosted AEW’s Dynasty event in 2024, a night filled with unforgettable matches. At Dynasty, Swerve Strickland captured the AEW World Championship by defeating Samoa Joe. The Young Bucks triumphed over FTR in a high-stakes ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Titles, and Will Ospreay delivered a stunning victory over Bryan Danielson in a critically acclaimed bout. Those moments helped cement Chaifetz Arena’s reputation as a prime location for top-tier wrestling action.
Fans eager to secure their seats for WrestleDream 2025 can access premium seating starting Tuesday, July 21. General ticket sales will open on July 28. The event promises to attract a large audience given its growing prestige and the rich wrestling history of St. Louis.
Reflecting on last year’s WrestleDream, the show was a milestone for AEW’s championship landscape. Jon Moxley defended and extended his reign as AEW World Champion by defeating Bryan Danielson, a reign that only recently concluded when Hangman Adam Page captured the title at All In. Meanwhile, Mark Briscoe held firm as the Ring of Honor World Champion, successfully fending off a challenge from Chris Jericho. The women’s division saw Mariah May retain the AEW Women’s Championship against Willow Nightingale. Additionally, Konesuke Takeshita claimed the AEW International Championship after winning a thrilling triple threat match against Will Ospreay and Ricochet.
With WrestleDream 2025 set for October 18 in St. Louis, AEW looks poised to continue building on its momentum. The company’s willingness to honor wrestling legends while delivering fresh, compelling storylines helps solidify WrestleDream as a must-watch event for wrestling fans worldwide.
