Vince McMahon Involved in Three-Car Crash in Connecticut

On Thursday morning, July 24, Vince McMahon, the 79-year-old former WWE CEO and co‑founder, was involved in a three‑vehicle collision along Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) in Westport, Connecticut. According to police records, McMahon was driving a 2024 Bentley Continental northbound when he rear‑ended a 2023 BMW 430, before continuing into a central median guardrail. Debris from this collision then flew into the southbound lanes, where it struck a Ford Fusion traveling in the opposite direction.
Law enforcement reported that airbags deployed in both the Bentley and the BMW, and all occupants were belted in at the time. Despite the violent nature of the crash, nobody was reported to have suffered serious injuries. Each of the involved vehicles required towing from the scene, and the guardrail sustained substantial damage.
McMahon received a misdemeanor citation for reckless driving and for following too closely. He was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 26, 2025.
Notably, the crash happened just hours before the public announcement of Hulk Hogan’s death. That same day, McMahon posted a tribute on social media, calling Hogan “the greatest WWE Superstar of all time” and praising his influence and legacy in the wrestling world.
McMahon’s legal and professional history adds another layer of complexity to this incident. He had previously resigned as chairman of WWE in 2022 amid scandal involving undisclosed payments and allegations of misconduct. He later also served as executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE and UFC, before stepping down in 2025 following a lawsuit alleging serious misconduct.
According to one of the other drivers involved, Barbara Dolan (or Doran), who was piloting the BMW, she narrowly avoided serious injury while on her way to catch a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. She claims McMahon was traveling “80 to 90 mph” and weaving through traffic. Her vehicle was nearly totaled, and she described the experience as “horrific,” although she and her dog escaped largely unharmed. She noted that an unmarked trooper had begun to pursue McMahon just prior to the impact. Dolan reported that McMahon swerved at the last moment, causing the collision that sent her off the road and propelled her vehicle more than 100 yards.
This car accident occurred at a time when McMahon remains a high-profile figure in public discussion. His recent legal entanglements and the tragic timing of Hogan’s passing have placed him once again at the center of intense scrutiny. While no serious injuries were reported, the apparent severity of the crash and McMahon’s court summons suggest legal consequences may follow.
As the August court date approaches, fans and media insiders will be watching closely. McMahon’s history and reputation may influence both public opinion and any legal outcome. Until then, the crash remains a stark reminder that events on the road can carry as much drama as those inside the wrestling ring.
