Tony Khan Highlights Jim Ross as an Essential Figure for AEW’s Success

More than six years since AEW began, President Tony Khan continues to emphasize how important Jim Ross is to the company. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Khan praised the legendary wrestling commentator by calling him indispensable and the greatest announcer in wrestling history.
Khan shared that he first heard Jim Ross’s voice when he was a child and was immediately drawn to his commentary. He said Jim is not only the original voice of AEW but also a remarkable person who has contributed greatly to the wrestling world.
Ross, who is 73 years old, underwent colon surgery earlier this year and has thankfully been declared cancer-free. He is expected to attend AEW All In in Arlington, Texas this Saturday, where he will provide commentary for some matches.
Khan stressed the importance of standing by Jim during his health challenges. He mentioned that Jim has done a lot for AEW and personally for him. According to Khan, everyone at AEW holds Jim Ross in high regard.
Last week on the Grilling JR podcast, Ross confirmed he will be at All In. The specific match he will commentate has not yet been announced, but Ross hopes to be part of the broadcast for the Unified Championship match between Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada.
