R-Truth’s Return Reportedly Canceled WWE Plans for Travis Scott at Money in the Bank

Last-minute changes are nothing new behind the scenes at WWE, but this one involved a twist worthy of a main event storyline. Travis Scott, one of today’s most popular rappers, was reportedly lined up for a major appearance at Money in the Bank. However, the spotlight ultimately shifted back to a familiar face in the wrestling world: R-Truth.

According to sources close to the wrestling industry, WWE had gone so far as to produce promotional merchandise featuring Travis Scott alongside the MITB logo and event date. The expectation was that he would play a key role in a highlighted storyline, especially since the event took place in the Los Angeles area, where Scott first rose to fame.

The original plan was to have Scott involved again in the ongoing feud between John Cena and Cody Rhodes, which began at WrestleMania 41 when Scott helped Cena capture the WWE title from Rhodes. With that history, it made sense for the rapper to return in the main event of Money in the Bank, where Cena and Logan Paul teamed up against Rhodes and Jey Uso.

Instead, fans were treated to a completely different surprise. A masked figure stormed the ring and attacked Cena, causing confusion until the mask was removed and the mystery man was revealed to be R-Truth. His interference allowed Rhodes to pin Cena, setting up a renewed push for the American Nightmare and paving the way for a SummerSlam rematch.

What makes it all the more shocking is that just days before, R-Truth had publicly announced his release from WWE, ending one of the company’s longest tenures. Fans immediately responded with a wave of support, chanting his name during both Raw and SmackDown and flooding social media with calls for his return.

WWE listened and brought the beloved veteran back. While there is no official confirmation that R-Truth’s return directly caused Travis Scott’s removal from the event, it is clear that Scott’s role was scrapped and the spotlight moment originally intended for him was instead given to Truth.

For many in the WWE Universe, this was the right call. R-Truth, known for his unmatched charisma and legacy, brought an emotional jolt to Money in the Bank that few could have predicted. His return reminded everyone why he is such a cherished figure in wrestling. As for Travis Scott, it seems he will have to wait for another opportunity to make his mark inside the squared circle.
