Mr. Iguana Has Backstage Heat in WWE After Recent Interview Comments

Wrestler Mr. Iguana has reportedly drawn backstage heat within WWE following a recent interview where he made several claims about his future with the company:

according to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The issue stems from an interview with Línea Directa TV, where Mr. Iguana, 36, claimed that WWE officials had told him he would be skipping the NXT brand and heading directly to the main roster due to his high merchandise sales.

In a new development, the original interview has reportedly been altered, with the section containing Mr. Iguana’s comments about his main roster status having been removed.

The situation comes after a surge in popularity for the AAA star, who was featured prominently during the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event on June 7 and was also shown in the crowd at the Money in the Bank Premium Live Event.

Mr. Iguana is scheduled to compete this weekend at AAA’s TripleMania Regia event in Monterrey, Mexico. He will team with El Fiscal and Nino Hamburguesa to face the Tokyo Bad Boys. The event will also feature appearances by TNA stars Joe Hendry, Moose, and The Nemeth Brothers, as well as WWE’s Angel and Berto of Los Garza.
