Alexa Bliss Shares Behind-the-Scenes Details of Her Surprise Royal Rumble Return

One of the most memorable moments at this year’s Royal Rumble was Alexa Bliss making a surprising return to WWE after two years away. The phone call came around midnight the night before and the final confirmation arrived at around 4 a.m. She was told to catch a flight by 10 a.m.

To avoid being seen, WWE flew her into a different city. Instead of arriving where the event took place, she landed in Cincinnati. From there she was taken by car in complete secrecy. She entered the venue through a back door and was taken directly to a private room for hair and makeup.

The surprise was so well kept that even her husband did not know about it. Early that morning, Bliss quietly grabbed her gear from a closet near her sleeping daughter and whispered to her husband that she was going to the Royal Rumble. He was too sleepy to understand, and she left alone.

Alexa arrived at the arena only at 4 p.m., two hours before the show started. She was exhausted, had not eaten or slept properly, and hurried to get ready. None of the other wrestlers knew she was there until she appeared at Gorilla position just moments before making her entrance.
